Billy and Jeanette bravely took our three little ones while Rey and I with newly arrived Jake and Jackie made a trip North to St. Augustine. It was a little underwhelming in the cold weather without all the pirates out for tourist season, but a beautiful city nonetheless. We had dinner at a place near the bridge we had been before with Rey's family where I just HAD to have the key lime lobster and shrimp pasta. Yum. Afterwards we made our way down St George street and past the old fortress to the Ripley's Believe It or Not Museum. I had wanted to see this for a long time. Perhaps our date day would have been better spent seeing one of the two movies we've been dying to see, but there were really cool things and it's a BIG check off my list! Finally. St Augustine at night was very pretty as well. We wandered around the fortress and by the water. After easing my nerves that our children were fine and the Barott's still sane, we made our way back to the restaurant for some dessert. It was a nice kid free day and a lot of fun spending time with my brother and getting to know Jackie.
